Halloween Costume Ideas for the Whole Family

Posted by Kate Oczypok on October 10, 2017  /  in Holidays In Pittsburgh, Things To Do in Pittsburgh, Trends  /  Comments off

Believe it or not, Halloween is fast approaching!  Get a head start on your costumes with this list based on what’s hot in pop culture now. Happy Halloween!

For your teenage son – Pennywise from IT

Of course Pennywise would be one of the top costumes this year! Pick up an already made costume or suggest ways to dress up as him for your son (red ballon, white and red makeup, fiery red hair). He should scare the living daylights out of fellow trick-or-treaters!

For your middle school daughter – Eleven from Stranger Things

If your daughter is a fan of the show, dressing up as Eleven is fairly easy. A pink baby doll dress, knee socks, Converse and a bit of red makeup to mimic a bloody nose. If you’re short on time or not too crafty, Spirit Halloween sells an Eleven costume for under $45, which is a pretty good deal nowadays when it comes to costume prices.

For your partner (female) – Daenerys of Game of Thrones

If your partner and you were huge fans of Game of Thrones this season, dressing up as Daenerys is always fun. Wear a flowing maxi dress, grab a long bright blonde wig and braid it and get a toy dragon to hold or perch on your shoulder. If you both are superfans, get your significant other to dress up as Jon Snow.

For your partner (male) – David S. Pumpkins

Tom Hanks’ bizarre SNL character caught on with a cult following of sorts. All you need is a ridiculously loud pumpkin print suit that many Halloween costume shops sell (Spencer’s has one for $59.99). Don’t forget to walk around shouting his catch phrases like “Any questions?”

For your pet – Lion from Amazon Commercial

We’ve all melted at the Amazon Prime lion commercial. Now you can dress your pet up just like the golden retriever turned lion in the commercial. Get ready to hear so many “awwws” as you take your furry friend to trick-or-treat with the family, or keep them behind to help pass out candy.

Your Dream, My Mission

I’m pleased to kick off my Spring/Summer marketing campaign. Thanks, as always, to Rapid Pulse Marketing for the fantastic work they do with my social media, print and video marketing. They are first class! And speaking of first class, I think the key to being a first class Realtor is making sure that all of my clients, buyers and sellers alike, feel they are being treated that way.

Buying or selling a home is a deeply personal and emotionally involved transaction. It represents the end of a chapter and the beginning of a new one for many people. My job… my mission… is to take that personal connection and emotional energy and guide you through what can and should be one of the most exciting times of your life. It’s Your Dream… and My Mission.

Fall is for Buyers!

Posted by Lauren Klein on October 05, 2016  /  in Buyers, Home Buying Tips, Sellers, Trends  /  Comments off

Fall is officially here and its beauty all around us is undeniable. Brilliantly colored leaves, crisp air and of course, in this town, football! But with the change in weather comes another change for real estate — one of which you may not be aware. While summer is typically a seller’s market, the entrance of fall shifts the market more in favor of buyers. And if you’re searching for your dream home, that’s great news!

A buyer’s market means you, as a buyer, are in a better position for negotiating and getting a great price on a home. There are a few reasons for this but chief among them is that by the time fall rolls around, families with school-age children need to be settled in new homes before the school bell rings for the first time. That means that a significant portion of potential buyers in the market, possibly even buyers you were competing against if you were also searching in the summer, drop off the radar. This decreases competition for inventory and can also increase a seller’s willingness to negotiate.

If you’re considering searching for your dream home — and you’re not governed by the school calendar — I’d recommend you pick up a pumpkin-spiced something-or-other from your local coffee shop and see what the fall real estate market has to offer! I would love to show you around our great city of Pittsburgh and see if we can find you exactly what you’re searching for.

Another thing worth noting about the fall season for real estate is that it’s a great time to purchase a vacation home, if you’re in the market. Purchasing now leaves plenty of time to get the home ready by spring, and also allows you to check out what the new locale has to offer in fall and winter.

As always, please don’t hesitate to let me know if I can help you in your real estate journey. I wish you a very happy fall!

Pittsburgh Property Diva gets new look and web presence

I am so excited to announce the launch of Pittsburgh Property Diva’s new brand and website. It has been in the works since the beginning of the year, and it’s an honor to finally share it with you.

Anyone who knows Lauren knows that she conducts herself and her real estate business with the utmost class. So, it’s only fitting that the new brand identity for Pittsburgh Property Diva is classy and modern. We have brand-new photography featured on the site, and the design is clean and inviting. I hope you’ll enjoy taking a look around. The site is organized so that buyers and sellers can easily find what they’re looking for, search listings, and learn more about Lauren (and me).

I’d like to thank all of our clients, both former and current, who trust Lauren as their real estate agent. You have made her one of Pittsburgh’s top agents, and she is honored to serve you.

I’d like to invite you to keep an eye on our blog from time to time. This is where we will post all of our news. We’ll also try to feature some of our amazing clients every now and then, and keep you up-to-date with what we’re doing. I hope you’ll stay in touch, and as always thank you for referring Lauren to your friends and family.

The real estate market is strong in Pittsburgh!

Posted by Lauren Klein on September 02, 2016  /  in Blog, Buyers, News, Pittsburgh, Sellers, Trends  /  Comments off

As we head towards the fall of 2016 — and launch our brand-new website and blog — I’m finding it’s a perfect time to reflect on the strength of this Pittsburgh real estate market. Pittsburgh Property Diva is having a great year so far, and it’s on the heels of several great years already in the books.

Last year, we closed 94 real estate transactions and generated more than $17 million in sales volume. From high-end condos in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh to starter family homes in the suburbs, I helped clients buy and sell homes all over Pittsburgh in 2015. It was a fantastic year, built on the momentum from 2014 when we generated $14 million in sales volume.

I’m so excited to see our numbers go up each year, because it means I get to help even more people through the emotional and often complicated real estate world. There’s nothing I love more than meeting people and building relationships. I have a true passion for this industry, too, and being able to combine those two loves is such a blessing for me.

As always, I have my wonderful clients to thank. You trust me to guide you through what is likely the largest financial transaction of your life, and I am honored to give you my expertise and advice throughout the entire buying and/or selling process. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for the past two (and more!) amazing years in the real estate industry. I look forward to many more!

Pittsburgh is one of America’s most livable cities

Posted by Lauren Klein on August 31, 2016  /  in Awards, Blog, Buyers, News, Pittsburgh, Trends  /  Comments off

You know, I’m a Pittsburgh native and I love this place. It’s really a great city to call home. But you don’t have to just take my word for it.

Pittsburgh consistently ranks on numerous lists and surveys of America’s top cities. Our economy is a big reason: the job market is strong and the housing is affordable. Check out this 2015 story from Money magazine, which named Pittsburgh the No. 1 city to live in the Northeast. That’s a pretty awesome title, considering the other great cities that are also here in the Northeast.

And in 2014, The Economist ranked Pittsburgh the most livable city in the continental United States. We scored high for stability, health care, culture and environment, education and infrastructure. Read more about it here.

You can also learn more about Pittsburgh on the About Pittsburgh page on Pittsburgh Property Diva’s new website. We’ve compiled some great information there, covering topics from schools to entertainment. And of course, I’d love to be a resource for you. I can tell you much more about my home city as I take you around to look for your perfect new home. Please get in touch if you’re considering or planning on a move to Pittsburgh!
